BB’s Jazz, Blues & Soups Opens Thursday at 5 PM, but Permit Delays Temporarily Affect Food Service
Historic St. Louis music venue welcomes the public back while awaiting final approval to serve its full menu.
The wait is over for live music fans! BB’s Jazz, Blues & Soups will open its doors Thursday at 5 p.m. at 700 South Broadway, marking the return of one of St. Louis’s beloved music venues. However, while the club has secured its liquor license and is ready to welcome guests, the City has not yet issued the necessary permit authorizing food service.
As a result, tonight’s show by Matt "The Rattlesnake" Lesch will go on as scheduled, but food will not be available.
Friday and Saturday, doors open at 4pm. Bar service available.
We sincerely apologize to our guests, musicians, and supporters for this unexpected inconvenience. We know many people have been eagerly anticipating BB’s reopening, and we share their excitement about bringing live music back to South Broadway. We also recognize that great food has always been part of the BB’s experience, making the temporary absence of our menu especially disappointing.
Our team has worked diligently to prepare the club for its reopening and is continuing to work with the appropriate city departments to secure the remaining approvals. Although our liquor license is in place and we are ready to open, the outstanding food service permit means we cannot yet offer the full dining experience our customers expect.
We are hopeful that the remaining permit will be issued in time for us to begin serving our full menu Friday evening. We are actively working to resolve the matter and will keep the public informed as we receive updates.
Despite this temporary setback, we welcome our guests back tonight. BB’s has long been an important gathering place for blues and jazz lovers, musicians, and visitors seeking an authentic St. Louis music experience. Our commitment to preserving that tradition and supporting the city's vibrant live music community remains unwavering.
We thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we work through this final hurdle. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to restoring the complete BB’s experience, with live music, great food, and the unmistakable spirit of St. Louis.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Matt "the Rattlesnake" Lesch takes the stage tonight at 8 p.m. We look forward to seeing you at BB’s!
